For home food businesses in India
How to keep Shopify, WhatsApp and Instagram orders in one place
The short answer
If you run a small homemade food business, say laddus, podis or bakes, and orders reach you on a Shopify store, WhatsApp and Instagram, AdugeOps puts all of them on one board. Shopify orders arrive on their own. WhatsApp and Instagram orders are logged by you in seconds. From there you move each order through confirmed, in prep, ready and dispatched, so you always know what is where.
Why three order channels turn into a mess
Shopify has its own order list. WhatsApp orders sit in chats. Instagram orders sit in DMs. None of them knows about the others, so the real list of what to make today ends up in a notebook, a spreadsheet, or your head.
On a quiet week that works. On a busy one, an order gets missed, two get mixed up, or a parcel goes out without anyone being sure it was paid for. The fix is not another place to take orders. It is one place to hold them once they are taken.
How each order reaches the same board
Shopify
Arrives on its ownRolling outConnect your store and each new order lands on the board with its items, address and payment. Edits and cancellations follow too. Nobody types it in.
WhatsApp
Logged by you in secondsWhen a customer orders in a chat, you add it: pick the customer, pick the products, set the date. It is tagged as a WhatsApp order.
Instagram
Logged by you in secondsSame as WhatsApp. An order from a DM is added by you and tagged as an Instagram order, so you can see where your sales come from.
To be clear: AdugeOps does not read your WhatsApp or Instagram chats. Phone and walk-in orders are logged the same way. The Shopify connection is rolling out to invited kitchens first.
See what is confirmed, in prep and ready for dispatch
Every order, whichever channel it came from, moves through the same six stages. One tap moves it forward, and the board shows which orders are sitting at each stage right now.
- 1
New
The order is in, and not yet accepted.
- 2
Confirmed
You have accepted it and know when it is due.
- 3
In prep
It is being made.
- 4
Ready
Made, packed and waiting to go out.
- 5
Dispatched
Handed to the courier, with the tracking number on record.
- 6
Delivered
With the customer. The order is closed.
Payment is tracked next to the stage: pending, part paid or paid. So “what is ready to go out, and has it been paid for?” is one look, not three apps. For a Shopify order, marking it dispatched or delivered here updates the store as well.
Recipes, inventory and expenses, tied to the same orders
Knowing what was ordered is half the job. The other half is knowing what to make, what you have in the kitchen, and what it cost. This side is part of the Master Chef plan.
Recipes
Write each recipe once, with ingredients and quantities per batch. An order for 40 boxes of ragi laddu then tells you how much ragi flour, jaggery and ghee to pull.
Inventory
When an order is marked Ready, its ingredients come off your stock. You are warned when something is running low, and a shopping list is built from upcoming orders and what is short. Every change stays on record.
Expenses
Record what you spend on ingredients, packaging, delivery and wastage, and link an expense to the order it was for. You see what an order really cost, not only what it sold for.
Automatic WhatsApp updates to your customers
Customers ask the same two questions: “did you get my order?” and “where is it?”. AdugeOps can answer both for you. As you move an order along, the customer gets a WhatsApp message. Rolling out
You confirm the order
Your order is confirmed.
You dispatch it
Your order is on its way, with the courier and tracking number.
It is delivered
Your order has been delivered.
Three order updates. You choose which ones are switched on. This depends on WhatsApp approving each kitchen’s number, so it is being switched on kitchen by kitchen.
What about a spreadsheet, or Shopify on its own?
A spreadsheet is free and is where most kitchens start, but someone has to keep it up to date by hand and it cannot tell you what to cook. Shopify is good at taking the order and the money, but it only knows about orders placed on the store. WhatsApp business tools are built for talking to customers, not for running a kitchen.
AdugeOps does not replace any of them. It sits behind them and holds the day together. See where AdugeOps fits.
Common questions
Is there one place to track Shopify, WhatsApp and Instagram orders for a home food business?
Yes. AdugeOps holds orders from all three on one board. Orders from a connected Shopify store arrive on their own. Orders from WhatsApp and Instagram are logged by you in a few seconds and tagged with where they came from. Every order then moves through the same stages: new, confirmed, in prep, ready, dispatched and delivered.
Does AdugeOps pull orders out of my WhatsApp or Instagram chats?
No. AdugeOps does not read your chats. You add a WhatsApp or Instagram order yourself, which takes a few seconds. Only Shopify orders come in automatically.
How do I see which orders are confirmed, in prep and ready for dispatch?
Each order sits in a column for its stage, and one tap moves it to the next. At any moment the board shows what is confirmed, what is being made, and what is packed and waiting for the courier. Unpaid and overdue orders stand out.
Can it also manage recipes, inventory and expenses?
Yes, on the Master Chef plan. Recipes hold ingredients and quantities per batch. Ingredients come off your stock when an order is ready, with low-stock warnings and a shopping list. Expenses such as ingredients, packaging, delivery and wastage can be linked to the orders they were for.
Can it message my customers on WhatsApp automatically?
It can send three order updates for you: confirmed, dispatched and delivered. You choose which ones are on. This is rolling out and depends on WhatsApp approving each kitchen’s number.
What does it cost?
Free is ₹0 for up to 100 orders a month and one user, and covers orders, payments, products, customers and Shopify store sync. Master Chef is ₹399 a month, billed yearly at ₹3,999, for up to 500 orders a month and two users. It adds the kitchen side: prep board, recipes, stock, shopping list and expenses. If you take more than 500 orders a month, write to us.
